EXPERIENCE: Following graduation from October 1999 to October 2006 he served as a pilot-instructor and air flight commander of the 627th Guards Pilot Training Regiment at the Krasnodar Military Aviation Institute. By the time of selection to Cosmonaut Corps he logged a total of 1060 flight hours of piloting the L-39 training aircraft. He is a 1st class pilot-instructor, parachute instructor and military scuba diver.
SPACEFLIGHT TRAINING: In October 2006 at the Interdepartmental Board meeting for selecting cosmonauts he was approved as a cosmonaut candidate and enlisted to the GCTC Cosmonaut Corps.
From February 2007 to June 2009 he took the basic training at GCTC, which he completed on 2 June 2009 with excellent scores.
On 9 June 2009 at the Interdepartmental Qualification Board (MBKK) meeting he was qualified as a test-cosmonaut.
From August 2009 to February 2011 he took the advanced training specializing in the ISS program.
From January 2011 he trained as the ISS-33/34 and Soyuz TMA-M backup crew flight engineer.
SPECIAL HONOURS AND AWARDS: "For Military Valour", 2nd Class Medal and "For Distinguished Military Service", 2nd and 3rd Class Medals of the Russian Federation Ministry of Defense.
HOBBIES: Badminton, basketball, downhill skiing, carting.
