4" Embroidered Space Patch for the STS-83 Mission Patch

This was the twenty-second flight of Columbia. The primary payload was the Microgravity Science Laboratory (MSL) featuring 19 materials science investigations. Landed at Kennedy Space Center, FL. on April 8, 1997. Mission Duration: 3 days 23 hours 13 minutes 38 seconds. Originally the mission was scheduled to last 15 days, 16 hours, 29 minutes. The mission was cut short due to problems with Columbia's Fuel Cell number 1. The MSL payload will refly on STS-94 slated for July 1997.
